Vitamin D, calcium don't lower fracture risk in older adults: Study

A study published in BMJ found that calcium and vitamin D supplements offer older adults little to no protection from fractures and falls. It added that one-third of people aged 65 and older fall every year leading to fractures and need for residential care. Researchers added that supplements also seemed to have no effect on specific fractures like hip fractures.
