The Seattle Times on Saturday reported that the Omicron variant of COVID-19 led to more deaths in the United States than those recorded during the Delta wave. The US has reported over 1,54,750 deaths since November 24, some 22,000 deaths more than the 1,32,616 reported during the worst of the Delta wave between August 1 and October 31, 2021.
