The Union Cabinet has approved a Bill to amend the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act, 2024, mandating all states and UTs to set up fast-track courts for paper leak and unfair means cases. It proposes 5-10 years' imprisonment for offenders and raises the penalty from ₹10 lakh to ₹50 lakh to curb malpractices in national-level exams.
