Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said state government credited ₹160 crore directly into bank accounts of families affected by floods. "Transferred the promised interim assistance of ₹15,000 each to nearly 75,000 of the worst-hit households," Sarma wrote on X. He said that a further instalment of ₹10,000 will be released for severely impacted families in Sivasagar and Charaideo.
