What is the difference between real estate & infra investment trusts?

A Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) owns income-generating properties such as office buildings, shopping centres, warehouses and hotels. When companies rent space in these properties, they pay rent. An Infrastructure Investment Trust (InvIT) works in a similar way, but it owns infrastructure assets such as highways, power transmission networks, renewable energy projects and telecom towers.
