How does the US track a ballistic missile?

The US' advanced sensor network that can detect and track ballistic missile launches anywhere in the world is composed of six satellites. Three space-based and two ground-based systems are managed by US Space Force to detect missile launches from space. A network of smaller satellites in lower orbits also use a variety of sensors to detect firing of a missile.
