Long-distance runner Gulveer Singh, who won historic silver in the men's 10,000m at the Commonwealth Games 2026, was born in Sirsa village in UP's Aligarh. Raised in a farmer's family with a military background, he joined the Indian Army through the sports quota in 2018. Gulveer previously won bronze medals at the Asian Athletics Championships and the Hangzhou Asian Games.
