Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant reiterated that his “cockroach” remarks in May targeted only lawyers who entered the profession using fake degrees, not the country’s youth. He added that the Supreme Court’s doors remain open to young people seeking redress. His remarks in May had triggered widespread criticism and led to formation of Cockroach Janata Party (CJP).
