Govt increases taxes on petrol & diesel exports, cuts levy on jet fuel exports

The Centre raised the windfall tax on petrol exports from nil to ₹1.5/litre from September 1 onwards. The government has also hiked the export levy on diesel exports from ₹24/litre to ₹25/litre, with ₹24 being charged as special additional excise duty and the remaining ₹1 as road and infrastructure cess. The levy on ATF has been cut by ₹0.5/litre.
