Why isn't it raining in North India yet despite the monsoon's advance?

Satellite images show dense cloud cover over central India, northeast and parts of southern India, while Delhi-NCR, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and western UP remain largely clear. Meteorologists said the lull is due to no strong low-pressure systems over Bay of Bengal, weakening moisture-laden southwesterly winds. The monsoon circulation lacks support for widespread rainfall.
