The government on Wednesday approved proposal to acquire two helicopters and aircraft from Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) under modified UDAN scheme for ₹400 crore. It will procure two Dhruv helicopters for Pawan Hans and two Dornier aircraft for Alliance Air to address shortages for operations in remote and difficult terrains. The cabinet approved modification in the scheme for ten-year period.
