Bayeux Tapestry on display in UK for first time
The 70-meter Bayeux Tapestry, depicting the 1066 Norman conquest of England, opened at London's British Museum on Thursday — its first-ever exhibition outside France. Over 100,000 tickets have already been sold. Loaned by France, the nearly 1,000-year-old artwork is on display until next July, hailed as a symbol of Franco-British ties.
