India's 1st Asian Games heptathlon gold medallist Swapna suspended for doping
Former Asian Games champion Swapna Barman has been provisionally suspended by the National Anti-Doping Agency after testing positive for the banned substance Boldenone, an anabolic-androgenic steroid. Notably, the 29-year-old had recently announced her retirement. Swapna made history at the Jakarta Asian Games 2018 by becoming the first Indian heptathlete to win gold in the event.
