Boney Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, and Khushi Kapoor moved Madras High Court over late Sridevi's Chennai property. As per The Hindu, Chandrabhanu and her children claimed a share in Sridevi's land, stating that it belonged to her husband, MC Chandrasekaran. However, Boney argued that she married Chandrasekaran, the original property owner, during his first marriage, rendering the second marriage void.
