The Venezuela-linked oil tanker which was seized by US on Wednesday changed name from Bella 1 to Marinera. In order to shield the ship from US seizure, a Russian flag was painted onto the hull. But US officials said this effort failed because vessel had not been flying valid national flag when it was first approached by Coast Guard.
