Damascus Airport welcomes 1st int'l flight since Assad's ouster

International flight operations resumed at Syria's Damascus Airport on Tuesday for the first time since rebels toppled President Bashar al-Assad last month, AFP reported. A Syrian Airlines flight bound for Sharjah took off at around 11.45 am, marking the first international commercial flight from the airport since December 8, it added. "Today marks a new beginning," an airport official said.
