Salman targeted in extortion plot, man arrested over fake gang threats

Actor Salman Khan was targeted in an extortion scam after a man faked WhatsApp texts and fake identities to create an impression of gang threats, IANS reported. The accused has been arrested and has reportedly admitted to fabricating the threats to intimidate Salman and demand money. The police authorities recovered two mobile phones and ₹1.30 lakh from the accused.
