FIFA Council has permitted the Afghan Women United, formed by women refugee players from Afghanistan, to represent the country in official competitions, without approval from the Taliban. The team is expected to play two exhibition matches during the upcoming June international window. The team, which had 25 players before the Taliban's takeover, played its last competitive match in 2018.
