AI systems capable of building improved versions of themselves could deliver huge benefits in areas such as science and healthcare, according to Anthropic. However, once AI begins improving itself, it enters a process known as Recursive Self-Improvement, raising concerns about humans losing control over these advanced systems. This recursive feedback loop can trigger an "intelligence explosion".
