West Bengal Police have arrested 18 people in connection with the violence that broke out in Malda district over the deletion of names in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. Police are going through CCTV footage to make more arrests as investigation into the violence continues. This comes after Supreme Court criticised state government over nine-hour gherao of judicial officers.
