Several boards reading 'Non-Hindu prohibited area' have been put up in Har Ki Pauri of Haridwar. The Ganga Sabha, which manages the ghats, said the entry of non-Hindus has been banned in Har Ki Pauri according to Haridwar Municipal Bylaws of 1916. "This sign has been put up to inform everyone about this," Ganga Sabha President Nitin Gautam said.
