Uttar Pradesh Police issued guidelines to be followed in the state during Holi in which it said that no permission should be granted for introducing new traditions. It ordered that 'Holika Dahan' sites should be identified in advance. It further said that police surveillance will be increased in religious places, and strict action will be taken against illicit liquor sales.
