NTPC is planning to increase capacity of its thermal power plants by 30 gigawatts (GW) by 2031-2032, a company executive said. India's power demand is reportedly expected to touch 366 GW in 2031-2032, for which the Centre will install 90 GW of additional coal-fired power plants by FY32. Power demand for upcoming summer season is expected to be 270 GW.
