What can happen to a loan & credit score if an EMI bounces once?

A single bounced EMI doesn't automatically turn a loan into a bad account or cause a fixed number of points to disappear from the CIBIL score. Depending on the lender and loan agreement, a borrower may have to pay a bounce or return charge along with the overdue EMI. Interest may also continue to accrue until outstanding amount is paid.
