Punjab govt moves SC against HC order to release DA arrears in 2 weeks

Punjab's state government moved the Supreme Court challenging Punjab and Haryana High Court's order to release pending dearness allowance within two weeks. "Compliance is not merely difficult; it is constitutionally impossible in the time allowed," the state government's plea said. It added that a plan was approved in 2025 to release arrears of ₹14,191 crore in phases over five years.
