The BSF field units have been asked to explore possibility of using snakes and reptiles in rivers along the Bangladesh border to stop infiltration and other criminal activities, reports said. The order, reportedly dated March 26, said, "Use of reptiles is in line with Home Minister Amit Shah's directions." The feasibility is to be explored in marshy and waterlogged terrains.
