Donald Trump claimed US needs Greenland for national security purposes, calling it "vital" for the Golden Dome missile defence system US is building. "NATO should be leading the way for us to get it. If we don't, Russia or China will," Trump said. "NATO becomes far more formidable...with Greenland in US' hands. Anything less than that is unacceptable," he added.
