Researchers grew mini brains on chips in groups of one, two, or three. After two weeks of electrical stimulation, only trios reliably distinguished different signals — reacting faster, more stably, and with greater spatial differentiation. Lead researcher Yoshiho Ikeuchi says the findings help explain how the human brain sorts information.
