The Supreme Court has issued pan-India guidelines for highway safety, including a direction that heavy and commercial vehicles must not stop on highways, except at designated areas. The court also prohibited the construction/operation of any new dhaba, eatery, or commercial structure within the Right of Way (ROW) of any national highway. It asked authorities to enforce directions within 60 days.
