China to build AI network of over 1,000 mathematicians to catch up with US

Leading Chinese mathematicians have launched an alliance to integrate AI into mathematical research to bridge the gap with the US. Led by Fields medallist Shing-Tung Yau, the Yau Laboratory Alliance for Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence will create a network of over 1,000 scientists. OpenAI recently published findings on hundreds of math problems.
