IBM to spend ₹95,000 crore to build fault-tolerant quantum computer by 2029

IBM has announced plans to spend $10 billion (roughly ₹95,000 crore) to build the "first large-scale fault-tolerant quantum computer by 2029". Dubbed Starling, the system is expected to execute 100 million quantum operations using 200 logical qubits. IBM recently also unveiled plans for a new venture that would become the first dedicated quantum chip manufacturing facility in the US.
