Chemo medicine may cause hearing loss in cancer survivors: Study

Researchers found that chemotherapy medicines, particularly cisplatin, may cause significant hearing loss in long-term cancer survivors. The study tracked testicular cancer survivors over 14 years and revealed that 78% experience severe listening difficulties, impacting their quality of life. Cisplatin becomes trapped in ears, causing inflammation and destroying sensory cells critical for hearing.
