According to the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) holiday calendar, bank holidays during the month differ from state to state. New Year's Day on January 1, Thursday, is not a nationwide bank holiday. However, banks will remain closed on this day in Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Nagaland, in accordance with RBI guidelines.
