Firewood prices in Tamil Nadu's Sivaganga and Karaikudi soared to ₹8,000/ton as commercial and domestic consumers are switching cooking methods amid LPG supply concerns across the country. Eateries and hotels have been advised by their respective associations to switch to wood-fired stoves to remain operational. Local hotel owners said prices of firewood have nearly doubled over past few days.
