A research published in Environmental Science and Technology says a typhoon efficiently vacuum microplastics from the ocean and spread them over land. The study which documented 3 typhoons in Ningbo China said that the storms were not mobilising local litter from Ningbo. The typhoons were actively transferring ocean-sourced microplastics into the atmosphere and depositing them on land.
