Artemis II astronauts make closest approach to Moon

Artemis II crew made their closest approach to the Moon, flying within approximately 6550 km of the lunar surface. The crew became the first humans to see far side with their own eyes since Apollo 17 in December 1972. Artemis II crew has travelled farther from Earth than any human in history, breaking Apollo 13's 1970 record of 4,00,171 km.
