Amid the Aurangzeb tomb row, Maharashtra Minister Sanjay Shirsat hinted that Khultabad, a town housing the Mughal ruler's tomb, will be renamed Ratnapur. This move aligns with the campaign to restore places altered during the Mughal era, particularly by Aurangzeb, who also renamed Aurangabad from Khadki. Shirsat, a Shiv Sena leader, stated that they aim to rename all such places.

India will reportedly not retaliate against US tariffs. PM Narendra Modi's administration has looked into a clause of Trump's order that offers possible reprieve for trading partners who "take significant steps to remedy non-reciprocal trade arrangements", an Indian official told Reuters. Another official said India sees advantage in being among first nations that initiated trade talks with US.

As Indian markets crashed on Monday, Nifty IT fell over 5%, while Nifty Metal and Pharma fell over 7% and 3%, respectively. Nifty Realty saw a drop of over 5% and Nifty PSU Bank crashed 4%. Nifty Media and Nifty Auto crashed nearly 7% and nearly 5%, respectively. The Sensex has crashed by nearly 3,000 points.

This comes as Asian stock markets plunged a day after US futures opened sharply lower following the announcement of reciprocal tariffs by US President Donald Trump. Trent and TD Power Systems were among the top losers on Sensex.

Donald Trump's advisor Kevin Hassett has claimed that over 50 nations have reached out to the US to negotiate a trade deal after the US President imposed reciprocal tariffs. Meanwhile, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent played down US stock market's deep plunge, saying there was "no reason" to expect a recession due to the reciprocal tariffs.

SRH on Sunday suffered their fourth straight defeat in IPL 2025. They remain placed last on the points table with two points and NRR of -1.629. GT, who defeated them, moved to the second spot with six points and NRR of 1.031. DC are on top of the table with six points and NRR of 1.257. CSK are ninth.
