8.7 crore youngsters not studying, working or undergoing training: NITI Aayog report

An estimated 8.7 crore Indians aged 15 to 29 are not in education, employment or training, as per a report by NITI Aayog, which identifies them as 'NEET' youth. The estimate is based on 78th round of National Sample Survey conducted in 2021. The report also notes that only 8.25% of graduates are employed in roles aligning with their qualifications.
