Mohammad Ashfaq from Kerala clocked 46.05s to clinch gold in Men's 400m at the 24th National Junior U20 Federation Athletics Competition 2026 in Karnataka's Tumkur. He broke Delhi's Amoj Jacob's record of 46.26s set in 2017. This is also India's 20th all-time best in 400m. Ashfaq breached both the Asian Under-20 and World Under-20 qualification standards.
