German authorities arrested five men suspected of planning an attack on a Christmas market in southern Bavaria. The suspects- three Moroccans aged 22, 28 and 30, an Egyptian and a Syrian- were detained at the Germany-Austria border, officials added. Investigators said they planned to ram a vehicle into a crowded market in Dingolfing-Landau to cause mass casualties.
