What is NTSB, agency investigating plane-helicopter crash in US?

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), a US federal agency responsible for investigating aviation accidents, is leading the probe into the plane-helicopter crash. NTSB also investigates major incidents involving railroads, motor vehicles and marine vessels. The agency is led by five board members, each serving five-year terms, nominated by the President and confirmed by the US Senate.
