₹330-crore fine imposed on Google by Australia for anti-competitive conduct

Google has been ordered by an Australian court to pay $36.5 million (around ₹330 crore) in penalties for anti-competitive conduct after agreements with telcos to pre-install Google Search on Android devices. Proceedings were brought by Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC). "Penalty should send strong message...there are serious...consequences," ACCC Deputy Chair Mick Keogh said.
