Japanese wrestler Akari Fujinami suffers her 1st defeat since school days

Japanese wrestler Akari Fujinami suffered her first loss in nine years and after 155 consecutive wins. The 22-year-old reigning Olympic champion was defeated 10-0 by world silver medallist Il Sim Son of North Korea in women's wrestling 57kg semi-finals at Asian Games 2026, marking her first international loss. Akari has won multiple Asian Championships and World Championship gold medals.
