Study reveals why there were no tiny dinosaurs

A study published in the journal 'Evolution' has revealed why dinosaurs weren't as tiny as mice. Researchers hypothesised that early mammals, most of them shrew-sized, had ably filled ecological niches for small animals, leaving little room for dinosaurs to evolve into similarly tiny sizes. Notably, some of the smallest dinosaurs, such as Microraptor, were about the size of a crow.
