Iran has blocked the Strait of Hormuz amid war, while Houthis threaten the Bab el-Mandeb in the Red Sea. These key choke points host major fibre-optic cables powering global internet. Internet analyst Doug Madory warned about the current risks. Though the cables are working for now, mines, attacks and restricted repair access increase chances of disruptions, reported India Today.
