UltraTech Cement received a Competition Commission of India (CCI) notice over its proposed acquisition of Chennai-based India Cements. The notice, under Section 29 (1) of The Competition Act, is generally sent if CCI believes the proposed merger is likely to have an adverse impact on competition. In July, UltraTech announced it'll acquire 32.72% stake in India Cements for ₹3,954 crore.
