US deploys over 20 warships to Middle East to tighten naval blockade on Iran

US has deployed over 20 warships to the Middle East to enforce a naval blockade on Iran, US CENTCOM said. It said US forces have redirected at least 55 vessels, disabled two, and boarded two others since the blockade came into force. The deployment comes as Iran and Oman are close to agreement establishing shipping lanes through Strait of Hormuz.
