India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai on Thursday, forecasting thunderstorms with lightning, heavy rainfall at isolated places and gusty winds. Thane and Raigad have been placed under an orange alert for heavy to very heavy rainfall. Mumbai will remain under a yellow alert on Friday (July 31), with heavy rain and strong winds also expected.
