Congress MP serving as JNU professor accused of seeking sexual favours from 11 students

JNU has been witnessing continuous protests against professor and sitting Congress MP Bimol Akoijam after 11 students accused him of offering extra marks in viva in exchange for sexual favours in May this year. Proceedings of Internal Complaints Committee are underway at the university. The incident gained attention mid-July after one student described her ordeal in a students-only WhatsApp group.
