West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee accused Election Commission of "working as per BJP’s directions." She further alleged that there were "gross errors" in SIR exercise conducted in Bengal. Banerjee added that central officers who have been appointed micro-observers for SIR hearings have little knowledge of the local language and are unfit to conduct verifications during second phase of SIR.
